I can't hardly talk about Advocare without talking about family. Our Advocare family started right in my own home but has branched in all directions. Let me share a small part of how Advocare is bringing us together.
Several months ago, our youngest in need of a way to pay for college decided to join the Army National Guard. Matt is a big dreamer and he knew that his dreams with large amounts of student debt would be quickly deflated. So off he went, searching for some financial independence.
At the same time, my daughter Jennifer had her own dreams. The idea of college now million miles away and she was discovering her own way of making a future for herself. Endless nights of pinning all her ideas on Pinterest with very little cash to support her idea of owning her own business creating new life in any piece of furniture or item she deemed capable of being recycled.
As Matt drew closer to finishing his training at Fort Lee, he started thinking about summer employment. Matt could never have enough money to fund all his ideas ( much like myself). We often would hear of how he planned for large tv's and an apartment at college fit for a king. And so he put out a feeler on social media about his quest for employment.
At this same time there was a young man Matt knew from his high school days playing baseball succeeding in his own finanicial indepence. He had left playing college baseball after an injury and was pursuing new dreams. Included in those dreams were to get himself in better shape then he had been. Kyle saw Matt's post about wanting a summer job and reached out to Matt about becoming an Advocare distributor. Advocare, a company focused on health and nutrition, fit where Matt wanted to be. Matt's plans for college included getting a degree in Exercise Science and Nutrition made him often looking into products that that helped him with his own physical strength. Often Matt shopped at GNC shopping for products he believed best for his work out regiment.
Kyle presented new opportunity to Matt, not only with making some money, but also buying a prodcuct he could save some money on by becoming an Adsvisor. And becahse Matt had set aside enough to jump right in at Advisor level, he right away would be earning 40% off his sales.
This got Matt thinking about his sister Jen, who not only needed to get herself in better shape but also the possibility to put away some money so that she could start her own business. And so Jen's caring brother took more of his earnings and started Jennifer down her own Advocare jouney.
Which leads me to now. As a mom, what a blessing it is to see one of your children reach out to help the other. And it didn't stop at buying the product. Last weekend they both participated in the ColorNlaze 5K and Matt pushed Jen to finish giving her full self. When they crossed the finish line together, Matt shared how proud he was of Jennifer with the effort she put forth. That pushing her to exercise continued tonight as they worked out together.
I think I always knew my family was very special. Advocare has only made that more apparent. And the best part, is knowing we are here to support each other, as we journey towards a future we hope includes having more energy and better health.
